Josh Kania is the founder of Coordinate IQ and the driving force behind its mission to elevate the modern seller. A former Division 1 football player turned techie, turned tech seller, Josh lives at the intersection of performance, strategy, and technology. He started his career in IT, earned his technical stripes through certifications and hands on infrastructure work, and quickly realized his greatest strength was blending technical expertise with a desire to elevate others.
As a sales engineer at VMWare, Josh thrived. He won SE of the Year, closed complex deals, and became a trusted partner to the reps he supported. But he also began to see a pattern. The reps who prepared before meetings and shared context always outperformed those who guessed. That single factor, preparation, consistently drove better outcomes for both him, the rep, and the company as a whole.
After a layoff in 2024, Josh stepped into a post-sales account management role, taking on all of the responsibility of the seller, and quickly noticed a familiar pattern. Across the industry, sellers were being thrown into high pressure roles without a clear game plan, without consistent coaching, and without real time support. It reminded him of his experience coaching high school football, where undertrained players were expected to perform on varsity fields without ever learning the fundamentals. That disconnect between expectations and preparation sparked the idea for Coordinate IQ.
Today, Josh is building a platform that gives every rep the tools to win before they even show up. He believes the best sales training happens on the job, not from a slide deck. And that if you can prepare a rep the same way you prepare an athlete, results will follow.
When he is not building, you can find Josh on the football field coaching young athletes, deep in a strategy game with his older brother, or testing the limits of what AI can do.
